I had been using the Cyberlink PowerDirector 14 and PhotoDirector 14 for several years, but decided to try the 2025 version to see what improvements might have been made. I am primarily a photographer, and only rarely shoot video, so I have limited experience with PowerDirector, but the PhotoDirector 2025 package is definitely a great package for a photographer who wants to get the most out of their photographs. The overall interface and layout of the software is essentially the same as in PhotoDirector 14, which makes the transition very easy for users familiar with the older version. All the tools I used before are in the same places, so I don't have to hunt for them, and they all continue to operate in the same way as before. What's new here are the AI assisted editing tools. I particularly like the AI object and background removal tools, which are excellent for cleaning up extra clutter in my photos. The object removal works best for removing small objects...if you try to remove something larger, you'll be left with a blurry spot in the resulting image, which probably isn't what you want. But for getting rid of random strangers in the background, or to erase overhead power lines, it works pretty well. Definitely my go-to photo editor now.
