I'm much more of a Mario fan than Zelda, though The Switch has flipped this for me for the first 2 years since I preferred BotW over Odyssey (though Odyssey is still a phenomenal game.) I can't say that anymore now that I've been living and breathing SMM2 for the last 10 days and it doesn't look like there's an end in sight. I did skip a couple of Nintendo consoles. GameCube and WiiU, never owned any of their handhelds, and a few mainline Mario games I still haven't played some like Galaxy, Sunshine, U, or 3D World. I can't imagine those being any better than this.The hundred levels in story mode are just great and with the price alone. These are some of the best Mario levels every made by Nintendo and really help you understand the newer and older mechanics in the game for newcomers and people needing a refresher.But the endless levels constantly being produced by the community are orders of magnitude better and it would be impossible to play every half of them.Level creation is also really great and I never thought I would be making levels I found it to be as fun explain some of the great levels other people have made.There's some issues with multiplayer and lag, which is unfortunate because I'm paying Nintendo for service. I haven't had any real problems with Smash Brothers online but a lot of the time Mario Maker multiplayer is completely unplayable. Nintendo needs to fix this. Though when it does work it's so fun. The ability play with friends is non-existent online though Nintendo said they will add this soon. We'll see.I still prefer 2D Mario games over the 3D ones even though 3D ones are great. This is a must have for every Switch owner.
