I recently saw Sue Foley at Antone's in Austin. Holy moly! She played fantastic blues guitar, and her singing was great too. So I decided to belatedly pick up some of her recordings. I had heard of her, but had never heard anything by her in all these years (her first album was released in 1992!).Wow, this is a killer album! Her guitar playing is superb, her singing and songwriting are excellent. Charlie Sexton, Billy Gibbons, Jimmie Vaughan, and Chris Layton make guest appearances and the regular band with George Rains on drums is great. "Run," "The Ice Queen," "If I Have Forsaken You," "Send Me to the 'Lectric Chair," and "Cannonball Blues" are some of my favorites. She plays the last two songs with just solo acoustic guitar -- powerful!I couldn't be happier to catch up with Sue Foley!
