The neoprene sleeve keeps the ice in place, magnifies and focuses the cold, and chills the affected area much more quickly than a standard ice pack. And the ice does not melt as fast as in a traditional ice bag. I have purchase three, two for myself and on for my daughter. The straps are long enough to allow you to stand and walk with the ICE 20 on your knee. It is well constructed. You need to make sure you securely tighten the lid so that water does not spill out as the ice melts.The product still is likely to leak during sleep even when you lie flat However it appears to be better than most ice packs I have used for travel.
