If you grew up with these label embossing makers, then you know what I mean by my subject line. They do exactly what it looks like they do, they create embossed labels you can stick to things. They are made of plastic and they aren’t super durable so you have to be reasonable gentle with them. They take a little bit of getting used to as far as spinning the wheel and making sure you’ve got the letter you want lined up, and you need to make sure you pull the handle/trigger with enough force to emboss the label. It’s all manual, so if you are used to electronic everything this might be a new concept for you. That said, it does the job. I have arthritis and other strength issues and I haven’t had a problem creating labels with it.It came pre-loaded with black tape in it, so I haven’t tried to replace a roll yet. I have a feeling that might get interesting as there are NO instructions included, but I assume I will figure that out. It reminds me of a simpler time and I enjoy using the labels around the house, on cards, on art projects, etc. . . You can buy tapes in other colors, but I’m a traditionalist and like the black tape with the white embossing.I think they are overpriced (what isn’t these days) but I also like that I don’t have to plug it in, put a battery in it or charge it. I just have to pull the handle! Again, I’d treat it with some care, don’t toss it down or try to spin the wheel quickly or in the wrong way, don’t squeeze the handle too tightly, etc. because the plastic it is made of won’t like that. Otherwise it’s a great little labeler and you’ll enjoy it for a long time to come.As other have mentioned, I tend to add a space before and after the label to make it more even. The label that says DYMO came in the machine and wasn’t done that way, the ones I made (HI and THANKS) are done with a space.
