Love the ease of useNothing fancy, but sure does a great job. Omlets cook perfectfully everytime. They are pretty easy to get out.The product is good. Directions booklet is very skimpy and inadequate. Doesn't even suggest how many eggs to put in an omelette -- which is important because the space is not very large. Otherwise, it is very easy to use and clean. Would probably buy one with a bigger capacity in the future.I was able to get this for $6 as an ad-on item, which is an incredible price. For $6 this is a spectacular item, easily five stars. But if you’re going to pay the $40 full price for it, then it’s more like a four-star item. It has a few minor issues that might be a little bit disappointing if you have to pay full price for it.1) The nonstick surface is… Weird. The instructions say to add a light coat of oil to the nonstick surface before the first use, which I did, and the device worked fine. But then I went to clean it up after use, and the nonstick surface was oddly a little sticky, kind of like a slightly sticky stamp or a sticker, which is very odd for something that is “non-stick”. It’s hard to describe, But I will just say that it did not have a sleek slippery quality to it like I would expect on most nonstick cookware, it just had this slightly tacky sticky feeling to it that kind of grabbed anything I was using to clean it with. I washed it thoroughly, but the next time I used it, I had the same weird stickiness problem. It’s a very minor issue, and the device works as I would expect it to, it’s just a little weird.2) The device cooks the bottom of whatever you put in it perfectly well, but in doing so the top of whatever I’m cooking tends to end up a little bit undercooked. This may be because the top of what I’m cooking isn’t tall enough to reach all the way to the upper non-stick cooking plate in the device, but it would be hard to measure things out so that they would exactly reach that top plate, so it seems like this would be a common problem for people. I’ve used other similar cooking devices that allow you to flip them over so that the top becomes the bottom, so the ingredients inside rest squarely on the other cooking surface to continue cooking, and that seems to work much better. I wish this device had the option to be able to easily flip the device over mid-cook and allow the top of whatever you’re cooking to rest on the top cooking plate to continue cooking. That would solve this problem entirely.I could see this device being great for use in a dorm room or other space where cooking options are very limited. It would allow you to cook a variety of things in those limited circumstances, and allow you to get away from having to microwave everything. Overall I think it’s a good device, I’ve been using it quite a bit, and I enjoy using it. The few minor issues I have with the device have not detracted from my enjoyment it, so if you get a good deal on it I think it’s very much worth buying. Personally I would not pay the retail $40 price for this, but I could definitely see paying $20 for it. And if you get the chance to buy it for $6 like I did, definitely do it. It is absolutely worth $6!I like this omelette maker. It does what it says. It’s easy to use/clean. The ONLY downside to using this machine is that it cooks TOO fast. The outside was burnt (because I had to leave it in longer than it required) and the inside was still watery. I don’t know if I had to many ingredients (onion, bell pepper & sausage) or not. I did have three eggs & 2 tbsps of 2% Fat Free Milk. That was enough to fill both sides and have some left due to the ingredients. The maker of this machine needs to make a temperature setting to control how fast it cooks. If I had to buy it again, I WOULD!!!!Better Chef Electric Omelet MakerMakes great omelets but is small, no on/off switch and can't be disassembled for cleaning.These were gifts.I have used this appliance twice. I used 3 large eggs, divided between the two sides. Cooks in a few minutes, but you must keep lifting the lid to check for doneness. A few seconds too long and the eggs are overcooked. Having said that, I am happy with it. The non stick coating is good, and clean up very simple. There is room to add grated cheese to the eggs, partway through cooking and that makes for a good meal.
