The story starts as one that may be creepily familiar: a distant, conversationally-aggressive friend you obligingly accept an invite from because you haven't seen them in a while. Spending the evening trying to stay polite as you plan a graceful exit. From there, Ice House continues to evolve a tense story as the characters discover more about each other. Actor Roger Wayne's performance of Grant is exceptional - Grant starts as a garden variety jerk but quickly moves to sociopath. Actor Greg Berman plays the foil as Wayne struggling to stay friendly. The film was mostly shot on a frozen lake in Minnesota, and the authentic location (and authentic ice cold temperature!) really magnifies how trapped each character is.
