This coffee maker works so well. I use a #2 filter. Put in 2 scoops of coffee, and hot water… throw out the filter and rinse out the whole unit… leave to dry on a drying pad.This is an excellent pour-over coffee set and perfect for one person. I ordered it for my husband as he is disappointed with the strength of the coffee he has been making with the drip-style coffee makers we have always used. He is retired now and has more time to experiment so he now likes to make his own coffee exactly to his liking and has been using a French press, which he finds easy to use and one of those stainless steel pour-over cones that sits on top of a coffee cup which he finds not so easy to use. I thought this might work better, look a bit nicer and would keep his coffee hot longer, too. I ordered one of those goose-neck tea kettles to go with it and the set works very well, and he likes using it, although it took a while to learn how much water to pour and how long to take doing it before he got it to where he likes it. The set is very nice, made of thick, sturdy ceramic and is fairly heavy. I ordered the black set and the matte finish is smooth and looks great. We took the advice of another reviewer and tried pre-heating the set with boiling water and then discarding it before using it to make coffee for the first time. The coffee stayed hot for a good thirty minutes, which is plenty of time for my husband to enjoy drinking it. The pot holds just enough for the single large cup of coffee that he drinks every morning. He thinks the coffee tastes much better this way, although it is a bit more time-consuming to make. The set is easy to wash and doesn't take up much room in the cupboard. The set arrived in perfect condition as it was well wrapped against damage during shipment and packed in a nice box that would be suitable for gifting. The current price of $34.99 seems very reasonable for this beautifully made, high-quality ceramic pour-over set.I love this pour over set so much! I got the matte white color, and it's gorgeous. Can also use directly over mug, tooThis uses a size 01 paper coffee filter and it makes one or two cups at a time.You need to heat-up both parts (top and bottom) by running some hot water over it before you use it or the actual coffee will get cold very quickly.Add as much coffee grounds as you prefer into the paper filter and then pour hot water through the filter straight into the jug below.Alternatively, forget the jug and just put your mug directly under the filter instead.
