I bought the “Brotherhood” vinyl in 1985. It was great. I never got around to getting their next album. Finally hearing it I was not suprised at all because other Boston bands went over to a hard rock / metal sound - the FU’s turned into Straw Dogs and SS Decontrol became SSD with ACDC type of stuff. They were just bands who got a little better with their instruments and played what they wanted to play. While Fire and Ice is a huge departure from Brotherhood it’s pretty good and very different. I liked the evolution and this CD is a good document of that evolution. I’m a completist and like hearing it all. Dave Smalley is a talented vocalist.
